Farewell…
The December 2006 issue of Commercial Builder/Architect - Massachusetts Edition is the last issue I will publish. I have decided to focus exclusively on promoting one company as I have had the privilege of interviewing and promoting over 100 companies in Massachusetts in five short years.
I am thankful that the publication has allowed me the opportunity to make many new friends in the A/E/C industry. In doing so, I believe I have raised the bar of those publishing and representing companies in the A/E/C Massachusetts market. I have had the pleasure of informing the industry of why the best of the best in the commercial construction industry are successful. I have shared with you the best practices in the industry and I have helped many of you promote your recognition of being nominated as the “Builder of the Month”, “ Architect of the Month”, and “Subcontractor of the Month”. Please know that although the publication will no longer exist, your recognition as being an honoree (nominated by your clients and peers), will continue to leave a lasting impression of your organization for years to come. That is commendable!
Commercial Builder/Architect no doubt will be memorable, but no more memorable than those companies that have helped pave the way to the success of the magazine. To all of the past honorees, readers, advertisers, advisory board members, contributing writers, graphic designers, photographers, and the clients of Commercialbama Communications Group – thank you, without you I could not have produced a magazine of excellence.
A special thank you to the construction companies that supported my efforts to launch the first year of Commercial Builder/Architect such as Suffolk Construction, Structure Tone, Gilbane, Cashman Construction, Cutler, Bovis Lend Lease, J. Calnan & Associates and Lee Kennedy; subcontractors such as Wayne J. Griffin, S&F Concrete Contractors, Capco Steel, Ryan Iron Works, Saugus Construction, and Norfolk Electric; and the first issues featuring architectural firms such as Bryer Architects, Silverman Trykowski Associates, CBT, Maugel Architects, Margulies, and SMMA – without each of you we could not have paved the way for all the other builders, architects and subcontractors that appeared in the magazine because you were courageous enough to be first - a trend-setter as it truly reflects why you are considered an industry-leader.
Although, I may be closing this chapter, I am re-emerging within an industry, I have come to know and respect – the commercial construction industry.
It should come as no surprise, that becoming consumed with how passionate many of you were about the companies you built made it difficult for me to resist the likelihood of representing one of you.
I am announcing today, that I have accepted a position as Director of Marketing at J. Calnan & Associates, Inc. As you know Commercial Builder/Architect has featured this world-class construction company twice as “Builder of the Month”, and I am equally as proud to represent a company that is equally as respected by their clients as I was by mine.
I sincerely wish you a happy holiday and many wishes for a prosperous new year.
Please feel free to stay in touch and make note of my current contact information for future reference: melchaak@jcalnan.com or call 617-801-0252.
Sincerely,
Michelle Elchaak
